The Network take Ospreys on a new journey

The Network’s Graeme Harrison, Chris Haynes & Andy Sutherden were appointed to evaluate digital fan engagement for Ospreys Rugby. The task quickly evolved to become a fundamental review and recommendation of the entire communications strategy for the Club. The final recommendation provided a complete re-staging of Ospreys mission, vision and values; a new communications approach and story house; plus an articulation of the Club’s DNA that now serves as the foundational narrative for the whole organisation.

The consulting ‘journey’ was laid out in three key stages: The process of diagnosis, setting out strategy and suggesting key tactics was ‘Learn, Create, Deploy’. Initial inputs and insights provided by The Network were backed up by interviews, visits, conversations, and a series of in-depth internal and external stakeholder interviews across all areas of the Ospreys business. The Network developed a communications approach, headlined ‘Lift the Mask’, that provided a new ‘face’ to the Ospreys organisation. This approach has started to present the club in a different way to its people, the public, the media and partners.

Ultimate success will come through the Ospreys internal teams being able to develop and implement the recommended plans, processes, and practices for sustainable growth. The Network’s future opportunity is to therefore help guide and mentor Ospreys staff on their continued journey of growth and professionalisation.
