Unique to The Open for Mercedes-Benz is their ‘Drive to the Major’ programme – a 6 day bespoke experience for Mercedes-Benz customers from across the world to gain exclusive access to the historic and compelling tournament while also competing for a place to have their own round on The Open course, merely hours after the world’s best players take their final putts.

The exclusive programme saw guests from over 25 countries in attendance. As part of our partnership, iMedia were tasked with running this programme. Managing accommodation at the Redcastle Hotel, in addition to running the Mercedes-Benz car service to Royal Portrush, we helped to create a truly once-in-a-lifetime trip for all of wonderful attendees. As part of the program, guests were treated to the exclusive Mercedes-Benz hospitality suite in the Patron’s Pavilion, in which luxury dining and a top-tier golf-spectating location were on offer.

A yearly highlight of the Drive to the Major is a golf competition on a top-tier course near to The Open. This year’s spectacular venue was Portstewart Golf Club, where our guests were wowed by the incredible sea views this beautiful links course has to offer. Hoping to secure a spot in the ‘Monday After’ golf day at Royal Portrush, players were competing for the chance to play a round on The Open course, just hours after the Claret Jug was claimed.

A series of evening entertainment sessions including Q&As with eight-time major winner Tom Watson, an evening at Redcastle with sports commentator Andrew Cotter, and a luxury dinner at the beautiful Drenagh Estate helped to cap off a stunning trip for the guests.default
