Due to uncertainty deep into 2021 surrounding the nature of this year’s Open (eventually designated a ‘Government Covid Test Event’), the decision was made this year to go ‘full digital’. We set about transforming NTT DATA’s iconic ‘Wall’ installation and data visualisations, to work seamlessly across digital platforms and, through close collaboration with The R&A, were able to bring fans an immersive ‘second-screen experience’ through TheOpen.com. New in 2021, we also developed and launched NTT DATA’s ‘MyNewsfeed’ platform (also hosted on TheOpen.com), providing golf fans with live and personalised commentary from across the Championship, bringing fans the very latest live news and insights on their favourite players.
Once again, we were delighted to also continue our role as NTT DATA’s exclusive hospitality agency. Over the course of the Open Championship week the ‘NTT DATA Pavilion’ hosted over x200 VIP guests. Our extensive role included amongst other tasks: managing the guest invitation & registration process; full guest support services both on-course and at the guest hotel; full transportation planning & logistics; the design & production of all printed materials; and the planning, design, production and delivery of an exclusive double-decker hospitality pavilion situated beside the 18th green at Royal St George’s Golf Club.
